Middle and high school teens worked together to make over 1300 P&J sandwiches on Sunday, September 25th. These sandwiches were delivered to the MSG Foundation for distribution to children that are in need. When school is out, children that receive free or subsided lunches would go without food. MSG depends on volunteers that are willing to step up and prepare lunches for those in need.
Middle school and high school teens recently returned from their domestic mission trip to Knoxville, TN. Sixteen teens, one seminarian and four adults from Good Shepherd worked with other parishes from several states on projects that were reviewed and approved by the Knoxville Archdiocese and city and county officials based on the need of the individuals.
We worked in teams for four days on houses, assisted care facilities and local nonprofit stores that help people in need within the community. We helped with repairs, painting, cleaning, organizing and landscaping projects.
Everyone worked hard and completed the projects that were assigned to them. They built relationships to the individuals that they served. It was a great experience for all!
Our next mission trip will be in July 2017, in Charlotte, NC. Please contact Garry Lee (GLee@gsrcc.net) for information about
this exciting opportunity! All are welcome!
