Welcome,

We meet on Sunday’s after the 5:30PM Mass in the hospitality room.  We dismiss from the hospitality room at 8:30PM.  You can pick up your teens either by waiting in the car pool lane or by coming into the PLC to sign your teens out.

Parent Update

Hi All,

I hope your week is starting off well.  This email will cover several important items that will be occurring in the Middle School Faith Formation program in August.

  • Our first class was this previous Sunday.I apologize for any confusion on how we dismiss on Sundays.  I want to take this opportunity to explain what we do and why we do it.  We do not have a car pool lane this year since we do not have a volunteer have will be here every class date to be responsible for dismissing teens from the side of the PLC.  If middle school teens have siblings that are in the high school program and they are here will be taken to the church so they can be dismissed with their siblings.  Otherwise parents need to come into the PLC and pick up your teen.  We will not allow teens to leave by themselves for safety reasons.  We hope you understand.
  • Our 1st hang out night is this Saturday, August 19th from 6:00PM till 9:00PM in the PLC. The teens will be able to play Xbox, Wii and other games with their friends.  We will also be playing a movie for them.  I encourage you to have your teens participate in these activities.  Friends are welcome to attend as long as they bring a signed permission form with them. We ask for a $5.00 donation to cover the pizza cost and they need to bring either a bottle of soda or bag of chips that they can share with the other participants.  A permission form is attached for your use.  I need at least 4 adult chaperons for this event.  Please email me if you can help out.
  • We will have Middle School Faith Formation classes this Sunday, August 20th. Please have your teen bring their bibles with them to every class.  They will be using them in class to find and read scripture in the majority of their classes
  • We have tried to make all sessions interactive with the teens. The teens and the team leaders will discuss the three major points of the topic and ask the teens what they believe and why.  They need to understand how it affects them in today’s world.
  • Over the next couple of weeks we will be covering the Mass. This week we will covering the four parts of the Mass and next week we will be cover the items that are used in the Mass.  I believe that the more the teens know about the Mass the more they will want to come and participate.
  • If you were unable to attend the parent meeting please go the church website (gsrcc.net) and download the class schedule, social calendar, hang out parent permission form and the information packet. If you experience any problems downloading the information shoot me an email.

That is it for now.  Look forward to seeing your children on Sunday.

God Bless.
