After a few years off, Good Shepherd is finally bringing back its long-awaited Vacation Bible School and Catholic Kids Camp. We’re not talking your run-of- the-mill, out-of- a-box Bible School, either—Good Shepherd is hosting a new, unique, and specifically Catholic VBS week!

What’s New?
– Daily lesson includes more than just a Bible story
-Every day students will learn from Scripture, a Saint, and a Virtue of the Day!
-Practical Life applications
-Virtues Alive! Station gives children and opportunity to participate in a daily Act of Charity that coincides with their lesson of the day.
– Children learn to be charitable and give gifts of time, talent and treasure in small steps—helping one person a time.
– Seamless supplement to the Faith Formation Program
– Opportunities for Adoration, the Rosary, and learning their Catholic Faith.
– Counts toward Faith Life Requirements for First and Second Year First Communion students.
-Interactive Stations that re-enforce our Faith Life, not just a Scripture or Verse.
-Children learn through games, videos, arts & crafts, music, and even themed snacks!

Who Can Participate?

-Fun for the WHOLE Family
-VBS isn’t just for our PK-5 students—middle school and high school teens, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins can all find a place for their own talents and interests.
Crew Leaders: Participate with groups of 5-10 students to complete stations throughout each day.
Station Leaders: Lead large groups in center activities. Station leaders provide guidance and materials for small groups to complete their stations
-Arts & Crafts
– Bible Adventure Activities (hands-on object lessons for each Bible story)
– Virtues Alive! (charity projects each day)
– Snack center
Dynamic, High-energy leaders are needed for our welcome and closing center in the gym.
-Welcome kids, introduce the Bible story of the day, play upbeat songs, teach children the hand motions for songs, and review our activities for the day.
PK and Infant/Toddler Rooms
– Childcare is available for volunteers with young children.
– Must be background checked and CPR certified.
Design/Build and Decorations Crew: work together behind the scenes to create our VBS landscape and help set the mood for the week
Materials Managers: Help sort and prepare all the materials students will need for the week.

Come Join Us!
July 10-14th
9:00AM- 12:00PM

  • Set-Up for all stations and volunteers will be the week of July 3rd -7th (except July 4th)
  • Meeting times for all volunteers will take place on Wednesday, June 21st between 10a-12p and 6-8pm for volunteers to pick up materials and review their roles for the week.
    • VIRTUS training for all volunteers 18+ years old who have not previously been
background checked with the Archdiocese will be Wednesday, June 28th from 6-9pm.
    • Middle and Highschool students who are under 18 years old will not need to go
through a full background check VIRTUS training. However, there are some small
forms that require a signature from someone at their school. Many
administrators do work through the summer, but I encourage our middle and
high school youth volunteers to pick up and complete these forms as soon as possible.
